Artist's Profile

"A home is not complete until it has a Peter J Hill hanging on the wall."

PETER J. HILL

Peter was born in Scone N.S.W. in 1937. He has led a colourful life working throughout the Outback for much of his early life. Peter has been painting since he was 19 years old and is completely self taught. His Works of Art appeal to a wide cross section of the Community.

Peter's work predominately echos his former life, which was spent working as a Stockman, Shearer, Station Hand, Fencer, Buffalo and Crocodile Hunter etc. Peter's paintings are distinguished by special observations of his subject which allows him to achieve a realism which reflects a sensitivity and respect for the Rural Countryside as well as The Australian Outback.

Since becoming a professional Artist in the 1970's Peter's Art Works are now found in Corporate Board Rooms, Private Collections, Hotels, Clubs and in many private homes throughout Australia and the World. These include: China, Russia, U.S.A., Canada, New Zealand, Malaysia, Nigeria, Switzerland, Germany, U.K., Spain and many more.

Over the years Peter's Art has been purchased by the Australian Government to be presented to visiting Heads of State. Peter says "If my paintings are unique it's that today in Australia you can still purchase something that is real Australian. I think the feeling is there if you've been out in the bush - that's the way it is. It is depicting all the things that are true about Australia.

Peter's works stand without the need of explanation and will continue to be respected and admired for generations to come.
