Follow the Flag

In the year 2000 Peter was chosen as the official artist on the "Heritage Horse Ride", where two teams of riders left Broome, WA one riding North and the other South to meet up in Sydney prior to the Olympics. Both teams carried the Australian flag all the way.

A collection of 24 paintings called "The Spirit That Built The Nation" was painted by Peter and auctioned at a gala dinner in Sydney after the completion of the ride.

Follow the Flag was the only painting of the collection chosen to be reproduced, it depicts the northern riders riding through the Kimberley near Kununurra, after the cyclone, where the dust and flooded roadways meet.
